Tiffin University went deep in a couple different ways in their 67-54 win at Ferris State, showing off solid three point shooting and getting good productiion from their bench in the GLIAC victory. TU improves to 4-6, 2-4 in the conference.

The Dragons held a 12-3 advantage in made treys in the game, with over half their points coming via the long shot. Overall TU shot 41 percent from long distance, hitting 12 of 29 shots.

Early in the game with the score tied 10-10, the Dragons posted an 11-0 run to jump ahead 21-10. It marked a 17-6 finish to the opening quarter as TU posted a 27-16 lead after the first 10 minutes.

The two teams played evenly throughout the next quarter, tying each other 12-12 but giving TU a solid 39-28 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs tried clawing their way closer to the Dragons after the break. With the Dragons holding a 42-28 lead early in the third quarter, Ferris State went on a 7-0 run to cut the TU lead to 7 points.

TU bounced back to push their lead to double digits before Ferris again rallied to chop the deficit to 7 points by the end of the quarter.

With TU leading 49-42 at the start of the final quarter, the Dragons put the game away with a huge 15-4 run to jump ahead 64-46.

TU showed off their bench depth in the game, holding a huge 34-8 edge in bench scoring while also winning the rebounding battle 42-34.

TU offset a 30-12 edge in paint scoring by the Bulldogs with a 13-2 advantage in second chance points.

Both teams shot 39 percent and had 15 turnovers apiece. Ali Schirmer led TU with 20 points and 4 rebounds along with 4 treys, while Deidre McKay had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 more triples.

Kristen Massey had 13 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists, while Bre Nauman added 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Allie Miller, Sarah Cummings, and Madison Jackson also all had 5 rebounds each.

TU is now off until Dec. 29 when they will travel to Ursuline for a 5:30 pm game.
