LEBANON, Ill. - Concordia-St. Paul junior
Maddie Hentges became the first player to score 100 career goals in program history in the Golden Bears' 17-12 loss at McKendree (4-3, 3-1 GLIAC) on Sunday afternoon at Leemon Field. The Golden Bears are now 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC standings.
Hentges had four goals and an assist and now has 102 career goals and extends her program career lead in points with 145. It's been a weekend of milestones for the program, as junior goalie
Katie Lottsfeldt surpassed 300 career saves and junior
Alina Boyce joined Hentges in the 100-point club.
Boyce also added a hat trick in the game while Lottsfeldt added five more saves to her career ledger. Sophomore
Claire Hagen played the final 13:51 in net, making four saves while allowing just one goal.
Concordia closes out a three game road swing at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois on Friday, March 29 at 4 p.m.
Today's game started with a frantic offensive pace with six goals in the first 4:24 of action, but it was the host Bearcats who had the early upper hand with four straight goals after the teams traded goals to start the game.
After the teams played a scoreless seven minutes, Concordia's offense came back with a four goal run of their own to tie the game at five with 12:09 to play in the half.
The Golden Bears would claim their first lead when Heinl and Boyce scored back-to-back goals with under seven and six minutes, respectively, for a 7-6 advantage late in the half.
The Bearcats scored two more before the break to claim an 8-7 halftime lead.
In the second half, Hentges scored her fourth to tie the game as the teams traded goals for 8-8 and 9-9 ties when the Bearcats used a 7-0 run over a ten and a half minute stretch for a 16-9 lead with 13:51 to go.
Concordia would score three of the last four goals but a scoreless stretch of nearly nine minutes down the stretch slowed Concordia's comeback bid.
The Golden Bears were able to keep the final margin within five despite a 43-24 shot disparity with Concordia's goalies making nine saves to McKendree's five total saves.

Izzy Snow and freshman
Sara McNicoll each had three points with Snow scoring a pair of goals and McNicoll dishing a pair of assists. Snow also had three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
Sophomore
Lexi Stanley continues to rack up defensive stats, securing six draw controls, four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Freshman
Mary Keating tied Lottsfeldt for the team high with five ground balls.
The Bearcats were led by Sarah Hardin's four goals while Kathryn Albrecht had two goals and five assists. Emily Nelson added three goals and an assist along with nine draw controls and six ground balls.
