Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally seventh-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs put together one of their most complete performances of the season on Saturday (Oct. 29) as the Bulldogs cruised to a 56-20 win over Northern Michigan inside the Superior Dome in Marquette.

In FSU's first trip to the dome in four years, the Bulldogs racked up more than 600 yards of total offense and built a commanding first-half lead en route to the victory.

With the win, FSU improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Carson Gulker earned the start and accounted for five touchdowns in the triumph while playing only the first half at the offensive controls. He led a balanced FSU offense that compiled 301 rushing yards and 308 passing yards in the game.

Gulker completed 15-of-21 passes for 224 yards and two scores in addition to running for a team-high 111 yards on 14 carries and three TD's. Jesse Rivera played the entire second half and ran for 54 yards while throwing for 84 yards and a touchdown on seven-of-nine passing.

FSU was led in the receiving game by slot receiver CJ Jefferson with six grabs for 93 yards and score. A total of seven different receivers caught balls for the Bulldogs and three hauled in touchdowns, including Jefferson, Dezmin Lyburtus and Tyrese Hunt-Thompson.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were paced by standout Caleb Murphy, who had a pair of sacks and tackles for loss in addition to five stops. Cyntel Williams added five tackles and an interception.

Ferris State built a 14-0 lead after the opening quarter and pushed the margin to 42-14 at halftime as FSU twice stopped the Wildcats on downs on their own half of the field in the second period, leading to short offensive drives. Ferris State did not punt in the game until late in the second half. FSU eventually pushed the margin to 49-14 with an early second half scoring drive.

The Bulldogs will return home to host unbeaten Davenport in a top 25 showdown next Saturday (Nov. 5) at Top Taggart Field. Kickoff for the Senior Day game is set for 1 p.m. (ET) and tickets can be purchased online in advance at FerrisStateBulldogs.com/Tickets.
