DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball program (18-5 overall, 10-2 GLIAC) dominated to win in three sets at Lake Superior State (2-21 overall, 2-10 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon.  The Warriors won by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Taylor Wagner (St. Joseph, Mich. / Lakeshore) gave WSU a 5-4 lead to start the first set and then the Warriors extended their advantage to 11-5 after back-to-back kills by Jenna Kray (Westerville, Ohio / Worthington Christian).  Another point by Kray made it 20-10 and a service ace from Maddie Morrison (Flushing, Mich.) ended the set, as Wayne State posted a 25-14 victory.

The momentum stayed on the visiting bench as the Green & Gold led the second set 9-1 after an ace by Maddy Benoit (Farmington, Mich. / Mercy).  A point by Wagner made it 16-6 and  WSU stretch its lead to 20-8 after a LSSU error.  The Warriors cruised to a 25-14 win to take a 2-0 match lead.

WSU had no issues closing out the Lakers in the third set.  Alexa Withun (Troy, Mich. / Athens) gave the Warriors an 8-1 lead before Morrison's spike made it 16-3.  Kamryn Duffield (Romeo, Mich.) got in on the action and her kill pushed Wayne State's lead to 21-5.  Halle Shell (Port Huron, Mich. / Port Huron Northern) ended the match with a kill to give WSU a 25-13 triumph as the Green & Gold posted its 11th straight set victory of the season.
