Box Score

The University of Findlay football team defeated Ashland University for the first time since 2006 as they claimed a 35-28 win over the Eagles on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Donnell Stadium.

The Oilers held a 28-13 lead in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles stormed back to tie the game at 28-28 with only 2:16 remaining in the game.  Findlay then marched the ball down the field and put themselves in a position to win the game.

The Oilers once again used a dominant run game to control the ball as they racked up 488 total yards, which included 300 yards on the ground.  They possessed the ball for 34:40 and achieved 26 first downs in the win.

Sophomore running back Daiquone Ford rushed the ball 41 times for 186 yards and two scores while Payne threw for 173 yards and two scores.

Payne also rushed for 64 yards on 12 carries while freshman running back Anthony Linnear had five rushes for 37 yards and a score.
