RECAP: Northwood looked to bounce back today with a doubleheader at Grand Valley (April 3).  The Timberwolves' offense couldn't get going as they fell in two games.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Lakers were the first on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the first, 1-0 GVSU.
  • In the third with runners on second and third, the Lakers played surprise as the runner from third stole home during a strikeout and throw back to the pitcher, 2-0 GVSU.
  • In the fifth, back-to-back singles to left field by Alexis Koehler and Haley Frank led off the inning. Unfortunately, the Timberwolves were unable to cash in on the bases loaded opportunity.
  • In the bottom of the sixth, the Lakers tacked on two more runs via a 2 RBI single in which the batter was picked off trying to advance to second.
