Ferris State Rolls Up Big Numbers In High-Scoring Home Win Over Grace Christian

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad put up big numbers on Saturday (Nov. 27) night, rolling to a 94-38 win over Grace Christian in non-league action inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

In the Bulldogs' first game back on the floor following the Thanksgiving holiday, FSU piled up 97 points while grabbing 27 offensive rebounds and 20 steals to win their sixth consecutive contest, moving to 6-1 overall this year.

A total of six Bulldog players reached double-digit scoring in Ferris State's second home win of the week. FSU's bench played a key role as five reserves tallied 10 points or more, helping the Bulldogs own a 59-1 edge in bench production against the Tigers.

Sophomore Kadyn Blanchard was the lone FSU player in the starting lineup to score in double-digits as she finished with a team-high 17 points. She was joined in double-figures by a trio of players with 11 points, including sophomore DeShonna Day along with freshman Grace Sullivan and freshman Mya Hiram.

FSU also got 10 points each from both senior guard Samantha Krauss along with sophomore Amaka Unobagha. 

Ferris State held Grace Christian to only 24.5% shooting, including only 18.2% in the opening half when FSU built a 50-16 edge. Overall, the Bulldogs totaled 22 points or more in each of the four quarters of the contest.

FSU owned a decisive 61-28 rebounding edge and notched 27 offensive caroms to only six for the visitors. Senior forward Zoe Anderson paced FSU on the glass with a game-high 10 rebounds to go with seven points.

Additionally, Ferris State came up with 20 steals, including five from Sullivan, four by Krauss and three from Day. The Bulldogs also had four blocked shots and dished out 24 assists while knocking down 19-of-24 (79.2%) free throws along with nine-of-27 (33.3%) three's.

For Grace Christian, Megan George led the way with 15 points, but she was the lone Tigers' player to score in double-digits.

Ferris State held a decisive 44-8 edge inside the paint and outscored GC 25-9 in points off turnovers along with 23-3 on the fast break and 20-7 in second chance scoring.

The Bulldogs are slated to open GLIAC play at home on Thursday, Dec. 2, versus Purdue Northwest at 5:30 p.m. (ET).
