MIDLAND, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over the Northwood University Timberwolves in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Tuesday afternoon in Midland. The Cardinals move to 7-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the GLIAC.
SVSU scored both goals in the first half, the first coming from Amy Babon off an assist by Reegan Kingpavong in the 15th minute. Sara Samolinski added the second goal in the 30th minute and the Cardinals held off the Timberwolves the rest of the game.
The Cardinals outshot Northwood 13-12. Olivia Argeros picked up her sixth shutout of the season, making seven saves.
SVSU hosts Davenport University at 1 PM Friday from Braddock Field.
