In Friday's opener, the Prairie Stars had their bats cooking, scoring two runs in four of the five innings played, capturing a 9-1 win.

Emma Johnson ran her consecutive game RBI streak to three with a sac fly that scored Morgan Cox for Hillsdale's only run.

The Chargers were held to two hits in Friday's second game, against perennial GLIAC power Wayne State in a 7-0 Warrior win.

Freshman Jenna Cantalupo and sophomore Renee Bielawa accounted for Hillsdale's two hits in the game.

Thursday night, the team lost a pair of close games to two teams from close by the domed venue.

In that first game, all of the scoring took place in the first three innings as the Chargers built a 5-0 lead by the second inning, but the Flyers came back to score four in the bottom of the second and two in the bottom of the third to complete the comeback.

Junior Madison Stoner smacked a two-run single in the first to score Johnson and Sam Catron to get Hillsdale on the board. Johnson finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in, while Catron had a great game at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored. Cox had a two-hit game in a starting role for Hillsdale against the Flyers.

In Thursday's second game, the Chargers fell behind 2-0, and despite matching the Rangers for runs in the latter half of the game, it wasn't enough to pick up a win.

Junior Natalie Walters went the distance on the mound against Parkside, striking out six batters. Three of the five runs she allowed were earned. Hillsdale outhit Parkside 9-8, with all nine of the Chargers' hits being singles.

Junior Natalie Stepanenko went 3-for-4 and scored a run. Bielawa had a two-hit game while Johnson had a hit and drove in a run for the second consecutive game.
