Men's Tennis Sweeps Hillsdale College

Luke Laws didn't drop a game at No. 5 singles.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (6-1 overall) continued its hot streak, defeating Hillsdale College (2-5 overall) 7-0 at Franklin Racquet Club earlier this evening. 

SINGLES
The Warriors didn't drop a match in singles, beginning with Luke Laws' (Sunderland, England) 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles.

Ben Lakeman (Penzance Cornwall, England) won by default at No. 6 singles. 

Dom Spicer (London, England) took down his opponent 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. 

At No. 2 singles, Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) posted a 6-2, 6-1 win. 

Niklas Karcz (Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) won his match at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-1. 

Finally, Cedric Drenth (Sulzbach, Germany) collected a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles. 

DOUBLES
At No. 1 doubles, the pair of Drenth and Grey were strong, winning by a final score of 6-2. 

Laws and Spicer teamed up to win 6-3 at No. 2 doubles. 

Karcz and Lakeman won their match at No. 3 doubles, 6-3.

"Probably the most complete match we've played all year.  Energy in doubles was good, and in singles we just carried on and looked very strong.  Very impressed with the progression of the team.  We're excited to compete again tomorrow," coach Bryan Morrow said. 

UP NEXT
The Warriors are back in action tomorrow at 3 PM against Ashland.  That match will be played at Peachtree Tennis Club.
