Preview: Laker Men's Basketball Set to Travel for a Pair of GLIAC Contests Against Wayne State and Saginaw Valley

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University men's basketball team (6-9, 5-2 GLIAC) is set to travel for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contests against the Wayne State Warriors on Thursday before taking on the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State on Saturday.

The Warriors currently hold a 7-7 overall record with a 4-3 mark in GLIAC play, and they are led offensively by the reigning GLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Antonio Marshall, who is averaging 16.1 points per game and is coming off of a career-high 36-point performance on the road against Davenport. Meanwhile, the Lakers will also be looking to box out the league-leader in rebounding in Avery Lewis (7.2).

The Cardinals enter the weekend with a 9-8 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the GLIAC, and they will host the Ferris State Bulldogs prior to their Saturday matchup with the Lakers. Offensively, they are led by the dynamic duo of Tre Garrett and Freddie McIntosh who are averaging 15.4 and 14.7 points per game, respectively.
