Laker Men's Basketball to Open 2023 Against Lewis Flyers

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University men's basketball team (4-7, 3-1 GLIAC) is set to open up the new year when they take on the Lewis Flyers (4-7, 1-4 GLVC) on the road on Wednesday.

The Flyers are currently riding a four-game losing streak with their most recent win dating back to Dec. 1. Meanwhile, the Lakers will be looking to bounce back from a three-game losing streak of their own, including a defensive battle against Quincy that required overtime to be decided.

The Lakers will need to contain the scoring duo of Beau Frericks and Jamere Hill who average 14.7 and 13.2 points per game, respectfully, on efficient shooting percentages. Hill has also proven to be a force on the defensive side of the ball, averaging two steals per contest for the Flyers.
