Winter Haven, Fla. -- The 14th-ranked Wayne State University softball squad (11-2 overall) recorded a 1-0 triumph Sunday morning over No. 12-LIU Post (0-1) on day two of the Rebel Spring Games.

Pitching was the story of this game as the teams combined for just nine hits.

Warrior starter Briana Lee (Canton, Mich. / Salem) went 5.1 innings allowing just three hits with six strikeouts to one walk.  Lyndsay Butler (Cambridge, Ont. / Centennial C.V.I.) entered in the top of the sixth with one out and runners on the corners and induced back-to-back groundouts to keep the Pioneers off the scoreboard.

Butler also scored the only run of the contest in the bottom of the first.  She had a two-out single, stole second and scored on a base hit by Emily Bryce (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) to right center.

In addition to the aforementioned singles by Butler and Bryce, Logan White (Brantford, Ont. / Johnson C.V.I.) doubled while Shannon Hilton (Gilford, Ont. / Bradford) and Devin Hentschel (Wyoming, Mich. / Rogers) each added singles.

Lee improved to 6-0, while Butler notched her second save.
