Bulldog Soccer Opens Weekend Action With Double OT Deadlock At Davenport

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer squad opened a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) weekend road stretch with a 0-0 double-overtime deadlock against the Davenport Panthers on Friday (Oct. 25) in Caledonia.

The Bulldogs outshot DU 16-8 for the contest and produced six on goal to only three for the Panthers, but neither team was able to score thru 110 minutes of action.

FSU's 16 total shots included three apiece from senior Tia VanSuilichem along with junior Bri Rogers and sophomore Pia Nagel, who put two on goal for the Bulldogs.

Senior goalkeeper Grace Kraft tallied three saves in going the distance for FSU to move her record to 5-0-1 overall this season.

Along with the decided edge in total shots, FSU also had nine corner kick tries to only four for the Panthers in the second matchup of the year between the two West Michigan counterparts.

With the decision, FSU is now 11-2-2 overall this year and 5-1-1 in conference action.

The Bulldogs will visit archrival and nationally-ranked Grand Valley State on Sunday (Oct. 27) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league road encounter in Allendale.
