Dragons defense shines in regular season finale at Davenport

Tiffin University (11-6, 8-4 GLIAC) played a rock solid second half defensively, allowing only one goal as it finished off the regular season with a 13-7 win at Davenport.

Both teams battled back and forth throughout the opening 30 minutes, with the Dragons finishing the half ahead 7-6. After the break the Dragons took control, opening on a 4-0 run to lead 11-6.

TU allowed only 7 shots on goal over the rest of the half, with Kat Schneeberger making six saves and allowing just one goal. 

The Dragons offense spread it around, with Elle MacMillan scoring twice while single goals came from Amanda Flotteron, Elle Hamilton, Tiffany Anderson, and Amie Morrison in the second half.

The stats were even in virtually every category, with TU holding a 28-27 shot advantage and the draws being even at 11-11. 

Overall Schneeberger made 12 saves over 60 minutes to get the win. MacMillan led the offense with 5 goals, 4 ground balls, and 3 draws.

Other offensive standouts included Flotteron with 2 goals and 3 assists, Hamilton with 2 goals and 5 draws, Morrison with 2 goals, 1 assist, 5 ground balls, and 3 caused turnovers, and Maddy Batley and Anderson with a goal and assist apiece.

TU now enters the GLIAC Tournament at Grand Valley State on May 4 as the third seed and will take on Indianapolis at 7 pm.
