Dragons Fall to Timberwolves in Home Opener

The Tiffin University women's soccer team fell 4-1 to visiting Northwood. 

The Timberwolves scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute of play as Hannah Jatczak hit a long ball to Juliana Paoletti over top of the Dragons' defense leading to the opening goal of the match. 

That score gave Northwood a 1-0 lead at the half having outshot Tiffin 8-3 and leading in corner kicks 3-0.

The game opened up in the second half as the Timberwolves doubled their lead in the 80th minute as Jessica Piper got on the end of a cross from Riley Rajewski. 

Two minutes later the Dragons got on the board as the referee gave a penalty off a handball in the box. Hannah Rittenhouse took the penalty and slotted it into the right corner of the net past the keeper to make the score a 2-1 game. 

The game opened up even more for the visitors with the Dragons throwing as many people up to attack as possible and Northwood was able to score two more goals to claim a 4-1 victory over the Dragons. 

Overall TU was outshot 22-6 and Northwood had 11 corners compared to Tiffin's 2.

Malea Nelson took the loss in goal, facing 13 shots and saving nine through 90 minutes of play.
