Bulldog Women's Soccer Falls In Regular-Season Finale And Awaits League Tourney Matchups

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University soccer team dropped a close 1-0 decision to the Northwood Timberwolves in its 2019 regular-season finale on Friday (Nov. 8) afternoon on the Bulldog Turf Field at the South Athletic Complex.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs have earned a berth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and will await the official pairings to be announced by the league office later this evening. The tournament starts with quarterfinal-round play on Sunday (Nov. 10) at four campus sites.

Northwood got the lone goal at 28:47 of the first half as Juliana Paoletti scored unassisted for the only marker of the afternoon.

The Bulldogs held a decisive 28-4 edge in total shots with 16 on goal to only three for Northwood. FSU had several opporunities late, but could not get the equalizer as NU held on for the win.

Andrea Everett made 16 saves in 90 minutes of work for the Timberwolves to earn the win while senior Alison Chesterfield went the distance and recorded two saves for the Bulldogs.

FSU also earned all 14 corner kick opportunities in the contest.
