KENOSHA, Wis. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team rallied from a second-half deficit to pick up a crucial Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win on the road at the University of Wisconsin Parkside on Sunday in Kenosha, Wis.

The Cardinals fell behind 2-1 shortly after halftime but answered with three straight goals to earn a 4-2 win over the Rangers, who were picked by the GLIAC coaches to win the conference in the preseason poll. The victory pushes SVSU to 2-0-0 in the GLIAC to start the season.

Senior transfer Danny Barlow got the scoring started for the Cardinals in the 12^th minute, but the Rangers countered quickly with the tying goal just over five minutes later.

After Max Ludwig gave Parkside a 2-1 lead in the 48^th minute, the SVSU offense found its scoring touch the rest of the way. Robbie Baker tied the game in the 49^th minute on an assist from Kairo Coore. Alex Gloshen put the Cardinals in front five minutes later on a goal assisted by Coore and Gabriello Calamita.

SVSU got an insurance tally in the 73^rd minute from Barlow to extend the lead to two and put the Rangers away.

Reigning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week Mason Maziasz made three saves in net for the Cardinals, improving to 2-0-0 on the season. SVSU outshot Parkside 27-13 and took six corner kicks to five from the Rangers (0-2-0 GLIAC).

The Cardinals open the home portion of the schedule against Northwood University at 1 pm Sunday at Robert C. Braddock Field.
