Oilers Swept By Lakers

The University of Findlay baseball team was swept by Grand Valley State on Saturday, April 22 in Findlay, Ohio.

In game one, the Oilers had a runner on third in the bottom of the seventh with two outs but were unable to capitalize on the way to a 1-0 loss.

Tommy Roush led Findlay at the plate going 2-for-3 while Reid Rothenbuhler was 1-for-3 with a double and Victor Migliore was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Despite the loss, Drew Hargrove went the distance allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out five.  His record is now 3-3 on the season.

In game two, the Oilers were shut out en route to a 3-0 loss.

Riley Christian, David Cort and Jon Shollenberger recorded the only hits for Findlay.

Derek Draper took the loss despite giving up only one earned run on six hits while striking out three in 6 and 2/3 innings.

With the sweep, the Oilers drop to 14-25 on the year with a 7-19 mark in GLIAC play.  They will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Tiffin for a doubleheader.
