SVSU Falls to Kentucky Wesleyan in Florida Finale, 8-1

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The Cardinal Baseball team finished its spring trip in Florida with a matchup with Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday (Mar. 7) morning. Saginaw Valley fell 8-1 to the Panthers in the regional contest at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.

SVSU is now 8-5 overall on the 2020 season while Kentucky Wesleyan is 7-5 for the year.

The Panthers got a single run in the top of the 1st and added five in the 2nd to take a 6-0 lead in the game.

Saginaw Valley responded with a run in the bottom of the 4th inning, trimming the deficit to 6-1. Colin Cornwell walked to get it going and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He was moved to third on a Joshua Riggs groundout and then promptly driven home by Martin Money
