Oilers Defeat St. Paul 15-6

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team earned their first victory of the season with a 15-6 win over Concordia-St. Paul on Feb. 26 in St. Paul, Minn. The Oilers now have a 1-1 record on the season.

The Oilers jumped out to a 7-0 lead within the first 12 minutes of the game and never looked back. They out-shot St. Paul by a 29-20 margin and also held a 14-9 advantage in draw controls.

Senior Kyra Bradley had five goals and an assist to lead the way while junior Olivia Sherman had three goals and an assist.

Freshman Ciara Burud had a good all-around game with two goals, three assists, two ground balls and two draw controls while sophomore Hannah Peebles recorded two goals and two assists.

Senior Allison Kelly registered a pair of goals and sophomore Brie Caruso had six draw controls and one assist.

Junior Rachel Heath picked up the victory in goal by making eight saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 8 when they hit the road to face West Chester.
