Tiffin University dropped its first game of the season, falling to Northwood 12-6.

The Timberwolves' record improves to 6-1 overall, while the Dragons fall to 2-1 overall. 

The Dragons got on the board first with a Zach Campbell single up the middle to advance Kyle Vance to second and Marino Pugnetti scored. Then, Nich Green was walked with the bases loaded to score Kyle Vance to lead 2-0. 

Northwood scored in the second inning, cutting the Dragons' lead in half at 2-1. In the third the Timberwolves scored three more runs to take a 4-2 lead. The Timberwolves added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the fifth to lead 9-2.  

The Dragons responded in the seventh with the bases loaded. Danny Donnelly singled to right field advancing Green to second, Ricky Havrilla to third, and sent Griffin Stevens home. Next, Bryce Richey reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Havrilla, sending Green to third, and Donnelly to second. 

Northwood matched the Dragons with a two-run home run to lead 11-4 and scored another in the eighth to lead 12-4. 

Tiffin had a late surge in the ninth. With Havrilla on second and Green on first, Richey singled to left field to score one. Then Jake Shier singled to left field, scoring Green and advancing Richey to second. The Dragons' surge ended there with the Timberwolves striking out the next two batters to seal the 12-6 win. 

Alan Meadows took the loss for TU, allowing 3 earned runs over 2.1 innings. Noah Kandel followed in relief, allowing 4 earned runs in 1.1 innings. Logan Fisher allowed 3 earned runs over 3 innings, while Grant Gillespie finished up with 1.1 inning of work, allowing one earned run.
