Dragons fall in semifinals 12-9

Tiffin University (12-6) fell behind in the first half and could not manage to come back for the win, falling to Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Women's Lacrosse Semifinals 12-9.

Elle MacMillan got TU on the board first with a goal at the 27:10 mark, but it was the last goal TU would score until just 1:44 remained in the half. The Lakers tallied 8 straight goals and dominated the half, outshooting TU 23-8 and winning the draws 8-3.

Holding a 8-2 halftime edge, and scoring the first goal of the second half to lead 9-2, the Dragons tried to mount a comeback. They tallied 3 goals to pull to within 9-5 with 18:00 left.

The two teams traded goals over the next 10 minutes as TU failed to pull closer. Two more TU goals brought them to within 11-8 with 5:00 left but TU could not get closer.

Overall GVSU outshot TU 34-22 and won the draws 14-9. 

Amanda Flotteron and MacMillan scored 3 goals apiece, while Tori Nelson also had 2 goals. Gina Abulone added a goal and 2 assists, while Morgan Sherley had 2 assists and Elle Hamilton also had an assist.

Kat Schneeberger took the loss in goal, making 9 saves.
