2019 Wisconsin-Parkside Preview
KENOSHA, Wis. – Led by ninth-year head coach Jason Zitzke, Parkside men’s soccer is set to open the 2019 season on Sept. 5 with a home game against Quincy.

The Rangers finished 9-7-1 in 2018, which was their first year as a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference. Parkside was a game away from clinching the GLIAC Regular Season Title and earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament. During the season, the Rangers went 3-1-1 against teams ranked in the top-25 or receiving votes.
Parkside returns it’s top-2 point scorers from 2018, including the reigning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year Leki Prpa. Prpa, who is a redshirt-senior in 2019, led the team in goals (7), assists (9), points (23) and game-winners (3). He went on to be win the GLIAC Commissioner’s Award and was named Academic All-American, First Team All-Region and Academic All-District. Along with Prpa, the Rangers welcome back redshirt-sophomore Jack Mittelsteadt, who was second on the team with five goals last season. Parkside returns Second Team All-GLIAC honoree Henry Bruer and All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Juan Gonzalez. Stevi Krecak returns after being named Academic All-District First Team. The Rangers bring in 10 newcomers to the roster for a good mix of youth and experience.
The Green & White’s season gets underway on Thursday, Sept. 5, with a home game against Quincy. GLIAC play opens up on Friday, Sept. 20, as Upper Iowa visits Wood Road Field.
