INDIANAPOLIS - The field for the 2012 NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament was announced and two teams from Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) have earned berths. Grand Valley State University will be the No. 2 seed while Wayne State University will be the No. 3 seed and host the event at Oestrike Stadium on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

The Lakers (41-14), the GLIAC's overall and tournament
champions, earned the No. 2 seed in the regional tournament and
will take on Rockhurst (Mo.) in their first game on Thursday (May
17). Wayne State (34-19) is the No. 3 seed in the Midwest
Regional and will face Northern Kentucky (35-20) in the first round
Thursday. The Warriors and Norse were the runners-up in the
GLIAC and GLVC Tournaments, respectively, over the weekend.
The other matchup in the double-elimination tournament is top seed
Indianapolis (42-14) against Lewis (Ill.) (33-20).
A total of 48 teams across eight regional sites will compete for
the opportunity to advance to the NCAA Championship finals, May
26-June 2 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary,
N.C.
