AU's Robberts, NU's Lee Claim Baseball Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly baseball awards of the 2021 Baseball season. Ashland senior Garett Robberts was awarded Player of the Week honors, while Northwood sophomore Logan Lee was awarded Pitcher of the Week accolades.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Garett Robberts, Ashland

In a 21-8 win on March 30 at Tiffin, and a 2-2 weekend for the Eagles at Donges Field vs. GLIAC rival Wayne State, Robberts finished the week 7-for-17 (.412) with eight runs scored, a double, a triple, three home runs, 12 RBIs, four walks and a stolen base. Robberts hit the cycle in the series finale on Saturday (April 3) against the Warriors. His big week has propelled Robberts to season numbers which include a .371 batting average, four doubles, four homers, a team-high 21 RBIs and a .661 slugging percentage. Robberts is second in the conference in RBIs, and tied for second in round-trippers. Robberts' first GLIAC Player of the Week came on March 8 of this year. 


PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Logan Lee,  Northwood

Logan Lee tossed a complete-game shutout to open the weekend series against Grand Valley State. He allowed nine hits and one walk while striking out eight in the 5-0 victory, improving to 4-0 on the year. Lee is currently tied for first in the conference in wins (four) while standing fourth in ERA (1.40).
