GLIAC -- Davenport, Wayne State and Northwood are among the 56 teams the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee has selected to participate in the 2022 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

Davenport received the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) automatic bid after capturing the tournament title on Sunday by defeating Purdue Northwest twice.

The Panthers will host an NCAA Midwest Regional for the first time in program history. DU welcomes 4-seed Quincy and 5-seed Northwood to the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The regional begins Thursday with game times to be determined.

Wayne State will host a four-team NCAA Midwest regional by virtue of being the second seed. It will be the first-ever NCAA postseason action at the Warrior's Harwell Field. WSU plays Walsh on Thursday afternoon, while third-seeded Illinois-Springfield will meet Ashland in game one.

WSU will be playing in the NCAA postseason for the ninth time in program history and seventh time under head coach Ryan Kelley.

Northwood earned the fifth seed, marking the fifth straight time the Timberwolves have earned a bid to the NCAA Championships, dating back to 2017. NU had never reached the postseason event prior to this streak.

The winners of the two regionals will meet at the highest remaining seed's field in the super regional for a best-of-three series with a trip to the Division II College World Series on the line.
