GVSU's Logan and WSU's Fitzpatrick named GLIAC baseball weekly honors winners

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fifth weekly baseball awards of the 2022 baseball season. Grand Valley State sophomore Nathan Logan was selected as GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, while Wayne State junior Karter Fitzpatrick was named pitcher of the week for the second time this season. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nathan Logan, Grand Valley State

Sophomore rightfielder Nate Logan (South Lyon, Mich.) hit .448 in seven games as GVSU went 5-2 for the week. Logan was 13-for-29 with three home runs, three doubles, a triple, 12 RBI and seven runs scored. Logan blasted a 2-run HR in the top of the ninth in top of the ninth versus McKendree to lift GVSU to an 8-6 victory. Logan tallied a 1.415 OPS for the week that included a .931 slugging percentage and a .484 on base percentage.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Karter Fitzpatrick, Wayne State

Karter Fitzpatrick (Monroe, Mich.) was solid again picking up his third win of the season. He struck out eight batters and allowed one run in six innings. For the season, Fitzpatrick has struck out 24 batters in 21 innings.
