UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University is excited to announce the hiring of Adam Piotrowicz as the sixth Head Coach of the SVSU baseball program.

Piotrowicz joins SVSU from Western Michigan University where he served as the Associate Head Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Hitting Coach, and Catching Coach for the Broncos' NCAA DI program since 2013.

"I'd like to thank Angela Pohl, Chris Winter, and the entire hiring committee for the opportunity to lead Saginaw Valley State baseball," Piotrowicz said. "I'm honored to be able to lead these student-athletes and this program. I look forward to helping these young men develop the tools necessary to achieve success on and off the diamond. This is a talented roster returning and I can't wait to hit the ground running this fall!"

During his time at WMU, Piotrowicz helped lead the Broncos to a program record for conference wins in the MAC with a 23-17 record in 2021. Piotrowicz also led WMU to the program's first MAC Tournament title in school history in 2016.

Prior to his time at WMU, Piotrowicz served as an assistant coach at Valparaiso University from 2010-2013 and as an assistant coach at Heidelberg University from 2008-2010. Throughout his career, Piotrowicz has been a part of eight conference championships and five NCAA Regionals.

"We are excited to announce the hiring of Adam as our next head baseball coach," SVSU Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Angela Pohl said. "I am confident that the men in our program will be positively impacted by his baseball acumen and his ability to connect with them on and off the ball diamond. I want to thank Assistant Athletic Director, Chris Winter for his efforts in leading the search process. We are excited to see the bright future for Cardinal baseball under Adam's leadership."

Piotrowicz will be joined at SVSU by his wife Heather, and two sons, Elliot and Hunter.

The SVSU baseball team finished the 2022 season 21-28 overall and 10-14 in the GLIAC, advancing to the conference tournament.
