WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Saginaw Valley State University senior wide receiver Jeff Janis (Tawas, Mich.) and Ashland University senior quarterback Taylor Housewright (Ashland, Ohio) were named the 2012 Daktronics Division II Football All-America Teams in balloting conducted by the Division II sports information directors.

Janis had a record-breaking season for the Cardinals in 2012. His 106 receptions ranked second in NCAA Division II, while his 1,635 yards were top in the nation. Janis caught 17 touchdown passes this season and was named GLIAC Offensive "Player of the Week" four times. He registered a GLIAC and SVSU record 300 yards receiving against Lake Erie in week four and broke the GLIAC and SVSU marks for receptions in a game with an 18-catch effort against Michigan Technological University in week nine. In that same contest, he eclipsed single season SVSU marks for receptions and yards in a season. In the game against Grand Valley State in week 11, Janis set a new single season GLIAC standard for receptions in a season with 91 catches. Janis was also one of 24 candidates nominated for the annual Harlon Hill Award in 2012.
Janis becomes the first Saginaw Valley football player since John Jacobs in 2009 to be named an All-American.
Housewright has been named an All-American by the AFCA (first team) and Daktronics. He is also the 2012 GLIAC "Player of the Year." In 2012, the senior completed 241-of-358 passes (67.3 percent) for 3,071 yards with 32 touchdown passes and four interceptions. Housewright led the Eagles to an 11-0 record in the regular season. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA playoffs for the fifth time in school history and the first time since 2008. AU ended the year 11-1, 10-0 in GLIAC play. This year's team won the first GLIAC football championship in school history and is the second team in school history to win 10 or more games in a season.
