Ashland Captures 2017 GLIAC Football Championship Outright

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Week 11 of the 2017 GLIAC Football season has come to an end. Game notes, audio, video and live stats links for five GLIAC football contests on Saturday, November 11 can be found below.

No. 10 Ashland hoisted the 2017 GLIAC Football Championship outright following a 31-19 victory over Saginaw Valley after the Eagles came back from their first halftime deficit of the season. AU quarterback Travis Tarnowski threw three touchdowns in the victory. Ashland looks set for a home-field playoff game next Saturday.

No. 11 Ferris State quarterback Travis Russell accumulated five touchdowns in a 49-7 road win for the Bulldogs over Michigan Tech. FSU is also in position to host next Saturday in the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Football Playoffs.

Grand Valley State earned a big 45-7 win over Tiffin as the Lakers got 14 receptions and 164 yards to go with four touchdowns. GVSU will need some help to sneak into the Top 7 of the region rankings.

A Gary Landless 12 yd pass from Grant Dunatchik with 52 seconds remaining lifted Northwood to a 5-4 record in GLIAC play as the Timberwolves prevailed over Northern Michigan by a 24-21 final. Wayne State survived Davenport in overtime 34-27 thanks to 201 rushing yards by Demetrius Stinson including a touchdown and three scores from Romello Brown to go with the game-winning TD in OT.
