Three GLIAC Football Programs Ranked Inside AFCA Top 20; GVSU Cracks Top 10

WACO, TEX.– Three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) programs now find themselves inside the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll following an impressive victory by now No. 20 Ashland over previously No. 2 Ferris State by a 20-3 final tally as part of the NCAA Division II Football Showcase.

Grand Valley State has cracked the Top 10 and currently reside in the No. 9 position following a 49-0 blanking of Northwood. The Lakers have outscored their opponents by a 139-7 margin the last three weeks and will welcome Saginaw Valley to Lubbers Stadium on Saturday night in the Battle of the Valleys contest to raise money for local charities.

No. 20 Ashland makes its first trip to GLIAC newcomer Davenport this Saturday for a Noon kickoff, while No. 15 Ferris State welcomes Wayne State to Big Rapids for Homecoming as both programs look to bounce back from Week 4 defeats..
