GLIAC -- The No. 10 Ferris State Bulldogs picked up a dominant 31-21 win over Fort Hays State in the Super Region 3 Semifinal round of the 2017 NCAA Division II Football Championships on Saturday (Nov. 25). No. 9 Ashland fell to visiting Harding by a 34-24 final score. Ferris State will play host to Harding next week in the national quarterfinal round, also known as the Super Region 3 Championship contest.

HARDING DEF. #9 ASHLAND, 34-24 : BOX SCORE

Harding brought its top-ranked rushing attack to No. 9 Ashland on Saturday and came away with a 34-24 upset victory to advance to the Super Region 3 Championship. The Bison ran for 295 yards while holding the Eagles to just 70 yards on the ground. AU wide receiver Logan Bolin led the Eagles with eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Michael Schweitzer recorded seven grabs for 86 yards and a score. Ashland QB and GLIAC Player of the Year Travis Tarnowski finishes his storied career going 26-for-47 for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns.

#10 FERRIS STATE DEF. #4 FORT HAYS STATE, 31-21: LIVE STATS

Ferris State went into Fort Hays State and came away with a convincing 31-21 victory over the top seed in the region. FSU took a 1-0 edge into halftime after a Wyatt Ford field goal and a Jahaan Brown 3-yard touchdown run, one of his two scores on the day. After a quick Fort Hays score made it a 10-7 contest, the Bulldogs scored 21 unanswered to pull away in front of a hostile environment. FHSU scored twice in the final minute of the contest.
