GVSU & FSU Remain Highly Ranked in Latest AFCA Football Poll

WACO, TEX. – Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) football programs remained highly ranked inside the AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Grand Valley State and Ferris State did not move from their fifth and sixth-ranked positions after both programs produced dominant victory on the road to start GLIAC play on Saturday (Sept. 15). FSU is receiving one first-place vote in this week's poll.

Week 4 features five contests as conference play continues. No. 5 GVSU stays at home after a pair of long road trips as the Lakers welcome Michigan Tech for a 7 P.M. kickoff inside Lubbers Stadium. No. 6 FSU heads up to Marquette to battle Northern Michigan as the Bulldogs boast the nation's top-ranked offense. Ashland is also receiving votes outside the Top 25 this week as the Eagles welcome Northwood to Ohio on Saturday after earning a 30-21 win over Wayne State in Detroit.

Wayne State (1-2) will head to Saginaw Valley looking for a much-needed victory as the Cardinals look to move to 4-0 on the year. Davenport will take a 3-0 record and first-ever GLIAC victory on the road at Quincy to round out the league schedule.
