GLIAC -- Ferris State (11-0), the No. 1 seed in Super Region Three, will take on fellow national powerhouse and third-seeded Northwest Missouri State (11-1) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship on Saturday, Dec. 4. at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids, Mich. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs and Bearcats are familiar foes, having met in the NCAA postseason in four of the past five years.
The GLIAC champion Bulldogs downed conference rival Grand Valley State to advance while Northwest Missouri State defeated Central Michigan, 50-21, and Harding, 28-9, to reach the regional final.
Ferris State is led by quarterback Jared Bernhardt, the GLIAC Player of the Year, Dylan Pasquali, the offensive lineman of the year and Caleb Murphy, the defensive lineman of the year. The Bulldogs rank No. 2 in the nation in scoring offense and No. 3 in total offense.
Northwest Missouri State has won six national championships in program history, with the last coming in 2016. The Bearcats' defense ranks No. 2 in the nation in total defense and No. 10 in total offense. Their lone loss was a 17-16 setback to Washburn on Oct. 16.
Should Ferris State advance, it would face the winner of Kutztown-Shepherd in the semifinals.
