2013 GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament Field Set

BAY CITY, Mich. - The field for the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball tournament is set after the conclusion of regular-season play on Saturday. Three teams tied for the GLIAC Championship, but a series of tiebreakers were used to determine the seeding for the tournament that begins this Wednesday (Mar. 6) with quarterfinal play at campus sites.

Wayne State University, Michigan Technological University and the University of Findlay all tied for the GLIAC Championship, each finishing with a league record of 16-6.  Wayne State earned the top seed in the tournament through the GLIAC's tiebreaker system and will host No. 8 seed Lake Superior State University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 6.

Michigan Tech earned the No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Northwood University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.  Findlay is the South Division Champ and the No. 3 seed in the tournament.  The Oilers will welcome No. 6 seed Ferris State University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  Grand Valley State University garnered the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 Hillsdale College in quarterfinal play.

The 2013 GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals will be hosted by the top remaining seed after quarterfinal play on Saturday, Mar. 9.  The Tournament final will be played at the same site on Sunday, Mar. 10.  (Game times are TBD).
