LSSU's Daly, Ashland's Davis Earn Player of the Week Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly men's basketball awards following the final night of competition to conclude the regular season schedule. Lake Superior's senior forward Devin Daly captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland senior forward Wendell Davis collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades for the third time this year.

North Division

Highlights: Daly totaled game-highs of 33 points and 12 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season. He shot 11-for-14 from the field (78.6 percent) and 5-for-6 (83.3 percent) from behind the arc. Daly finished the season with 82 points in two games against the Lakers' travel partners Northwood this season after posting 49 points against the Timberwolves on Feb. 1. The victory also helped LSSU captured the fourth seed heading into the GLIAC Tournament. The Lakers will host Hillsdale College on Tuesday.

South Division

Highlights: In the regular-season finale on Thursday (Feb. 25) at home against Lake Erie, Ashland senior forward Wendell Davis had a game-high 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field, and a game-high nine rebounds. Through the 2015-16 regular season, Davis is seventh in the conference in both scoring (18.1 ppg.) and rebounding (7.5 rpg.). He is shooting 51.2 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.
