Ashland's Davis, FSU's Stolicker Earn GLIAC POW Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly men's basketball awards following the third week of the regular season. Ferris State senior center Jared Stolicker captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland junior forward Wendell Davis collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.

North Division

Highlights: Stolicker averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 75 percent from the floor as No. 18 Ferris State swept Cedarville and Wisconsin-Parkside for a pair of region road wins last week. He totaled 19 points on eight-of-10 shooting while pulling down 13 boards with five blocks and two steals in Tuesday's 72-55 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The 6-10 big man then came back to register 13 points and grab nine boards with two blocks and a steal in FSU's decisive 84-58 road win over previously unbeaten and returning NCAA Tournament qualifier Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. For the week, Stolicker totaled 32 points, 22 rebounds, seven blocked shots, three assists and three steals as FSU moved to 6-0 on the year. 

South Division
Wendell Davis Ashland Forward Jr.

Highlights: Davis was selected Most Outstanding Player of 32nd Annual Gary Miller Classic last week after averaging 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in victories over Alderson-Broaddus and Gannon. Davis recorded 31 points against Alderson Broaddus, the second-most of his career, and shot 66.7 percent from the field and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line for the week. The Eagles are 5-0 and were receiving votes in last week's NABC poll.
