Northwood's Jones, Walsh's Carter Selected for GLIAC POW Awards

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly men's basketball awards following the final week of competition in 2015. Northwood senior guard Maurice Jones captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Walsh junior guard Zac Carter collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.

North Division
Maurice Jones Northwood Guard Sr.

Highlights: Jones led Northwood to an impressive 104-87 win over No. 23 Kentucky Wesleyan, finishing with 21 points, nine assists and three steals. Jones went 5-5 from the foul line and was a big part of NU setting a school record for free throw percentage in a game (96.3 percent - 26-27). Jones currently ranks second in the league in scoring while leading in assists and steals.

South Division
Zac Carter Walsh Guard Jr.

Highlights: Carter helped lead the Cavaliers to a 71-63 victory against Cedarville in their only game on the week. Carter scored a game-high and season-high 24 points on a superb 9-of-15 from the field. He also did well setting up the rest of the Walsh offense with seven assists and added a pair of rebounds and steals. Carter is currently fifth in the GLIAC with 5.1 assists per game.
