Official NABC Rankings Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) are now ranked inside the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Top 25 poll released on Tuesday (Feb. 16).
Saginaw Valley (19-4, 15-2 GLIAC) improved three positions to No. 12 in the polls after another 2-0 week to stretch the Cardinals' win streak to nine consecutive. SVSU earned a come-from-behind victory at home over Northern Michigan (67-66) on Thursday (Feb. 11) thanks to a Garrett Hall triple with 2.3 seconds remaining to erase a 17-point halftime deficit. Saginaw Valley then recorded a 80-72 win over Michigan Tech on Saturday to give themselves a two-game lead in the conference with three games remaining.
The Ashland Eagles (21-4, 15-4 GLIAC) are ranked No. 18 and are inside the Top 25 for the ninth time this season, the most weeks Ashland's men have been ranked in a single season since 1970-71, when the team was in the Top 25 all 13 weeks. AU is in the midst of an eight-game winning streak, and is one game ahead of Findlay for first place in the South Division with three regular-season games to play.
Ferris State, Findlay and Lake Superior State are all outside the Top 25 in the also receiving votes category in this week's poll.
