COLUMBUS, Ohio – Trent Weaver (Columbus, Ohio) has signed a contract to play basketball with FC Schalke 04 in the Pro B league in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

A 6-8, 225 pound forward, Weaver earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors as a senior. He averaged 15.5 points on 52.4 percent shooting while grabbing 9.5 rebounds per game. At the end of the regular season, Weaver ranked third in the GLIAC in rebounding, 12th in scoring and 14th in field goal percentage.

A three-time GLIAC South Division Player of the Week, Weaver played in 108 games in his career (88 starts), scoring 1,261 points with 810 rebounds. He finished third on ODU's all-time rebounding list and 10th on the program's scoring list.

"This is something I wanted to do for the last few years and realized it was a possibility after the season ended," said Weaver, who will travel to Germany for preseason training on Aug. 4. "I was able to find an agent who helped put together highlight and workout videos, and one of the first teams to respond was FC Schalke. They have an experienced coach who was looking for an athletic big guy that can rebound, so I think it will be a good fit."
