Ferris State, Lake State Set for 2018 #GLIACMBB Tournament Title Tilt

2018 GLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

GLIACMBB -- The 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Basketball Tournament Championship match is set for Sunday (March 4) on the campus of Ferris State University inside Wink Arena. Top-ranked Ferris State will face the only team to beat the Bulldogs in 2017-18 -- the No. 2 seeded Lake Superior State Lakers -- in a matchup scheduled for 3 PM.

Ferris State maintained home-court advantage and shot 55.9 percent on the afternoon to earn a trip to Sunday's tournament final. FSU dished out 28 assists compared to 15 for AU and earned a 10-point points in the paint advantage over the Eagles. Noah King paced the Bulldogs with a game-high 24 points while Zach Hankins poured in 21 points on 7-for-9 shooting with five blocks.

Lake Superior State held Michigan Tech standout Kyle Monroe to just 15 points as Akaemji Williams poured in a game-high 18 points and nine assists with five rebounds as the Lakers received 28 bench points to key the victory and a trip to the conference tournament finals. LSSU outrebounded Tech by a 41-34 margin, including 28-13 in the second half and controlled the paint by a 30-20 tally. Lake State outscored the Huskies 36-21 in the second half to overcome a narrow one-point deficit.
