Ferris State's Hankins, Wayne State's Moore Collect GLIAC Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly men's basketball awards following Week 13 of the 2017-18 campaign. Ferris State University junior center Zach Hankins earned GLIAC Men's Basketball North Division honors for this third time this season, while Wayne State senior guard Marcus Moore captured South Division accolades for the second time this year.

NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Zach Hankins, Ferris State

Ferris State University junior center Zach Hankins led the Bulldogs to a second-straight outright GLIAC Championship as FSU swept Upper Peninsula foes Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan this past weekend to wrap up a four-game league road stretch. Hankins averaged 22 points, 16 rebounds and two assists while shooting 71.4% from the floor on the weekend in helping the Bulldogs stretch their win streak to 15 consecutive games. He notched 13 points, 14 boards and two assists in Thursday's 89-84 overtime road triumph at MTU while pulling down a big offensive rebound off a missed free throw and finding senior teammate Noah King for the game-tying three with four-tenths of a second left in regulation. He then came back to score a game-high 31 points with 18 rebounds and two assists while connecting on 14-of-18 field goals in Saturday's 98-84 triumph at Northern Michigan. His play helped FSU improve to a nation-leading 27-1 overall this season.

SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Marcus Moore, Wayne State

Wayne State senior guard Marcus Moore averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as WSU lost on the road, but won at home last week.
