FSU's Ryan and NU's Ammerman named GLIAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following Week 3 of the men's basketball season. Ferris State senior forward Logan Ryan received GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Northwood senior guard Jack Ammerman earned GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades. 


NORTH DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Logan Ryan - Ferris State

Ferris State University senior big man Logan Ryan (Canton, Mich.) had a big week for the nationally 14th-ranked Bulldogs as FSU split a pair of non-conference games. Ryan averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in games against Findlay and Lincoln (Pa.). He totaled 12 points with five boards, a steal and a block on Tuesday (Nov. 23) as FSU suffered a close 86-74 setback in regional action at Findlay. Ryan then came back with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds in a double-double effort to go with three blocks on Sunday in FSU's 82-66 home win over the Lions when he made 10-of-13 field goals. For the week, the Canton native shot 75% from the floor (15-20) while also making 2-of-3 (.667) free throws. He netted 32 points, 16 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and a steal on the week for the 5-1 Bulldogs.

SOUTH DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jack Ammerman - Northwood

Senior guard Jack Ammerman (Ann Arbor, Mich.) had a pair of big games at Indianapolis, averaging 24.5 points per game. He shot 66.7 percent from the floor (18-27), 75.0 percent from 3-point range (9-12) and 100 percent from the foul line. Ammerman scored 25 points while going 9-14 from the floor and 5-6 from beyond the 3-point line in NU"s 79-71 win against Illinois-Springfield. He then had nearly the same numbers against Indianapolis, finishing with 24 points while going 9-13 from the floor and 4-6 from 3-point range. Ammerman also moved into ninth on the NU career 3-point field goals made list with his nine makes this week (166).
