GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following Week 5 of the men's basketball season. Parkside redshirt freshman forward Jamir Simpson was named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week, while Grand Valley State senior forward Jake Van Tubbergen received GLIAC South Division Player of the Week recognition.

SOUTH DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jake Van Tubbergen - Grand Valley State
Senior forward Jake Van Tubbergen (Holland, Mich.) has earned his third GLIAC South Player of the Week honors of the season after a huge weekend to lead the Lakers to a 2-0 road weekend in conference play. The senior scored 16 points and recorded a season-high 14 rebounds on Thursday against Purdue Northwest to collect his seventh double-double of the season, going 7-13 from the floor and swiping one steal. He followed that up with a season-high 32 points, on 10-14 shooting, 3-4 from three and a 9-10 mark at the free throw line, to go along with six rebounds and a block in the Lakers win at Parkside Saturday.
