Parkside's Croft and SVSU's Witz named GLIAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following Week 6 of the men's basketball season. Parkside redshirt senior guard Tray Croft was honored as GLIAC North Division Player of the Week, while Saginaw Valley State senior forward Tyler Witz earned GLIAC South Division Player of the Week recognition. 


NORTH DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tray Croft - Parkside

Redshirt senior Tray Croft (Anniston, Ala.) went for 18 points in the second half en route to a game-high 27 points to lead the Rangers to an 84-72 win over Clarke on Tuesday night. The Anniston, Ala. native, went 4-for-6 from deep and added seven rebounds and a team-high five assists.
 

SOUTH DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tyler Witz - Saginaw Valley State

Senior Tyler Witz (Clearwater, Fla.) led the Cardinals to the 67-55 win over Wayne State, scoring 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting, dominating on the inside in the first half with 14 points. He added eight rebounds, including five on the offensive end of the floor. The Clearwater, Fla., native is averaging 11.6 points and seven rebounds per game, while hitting 54.8 percent of his shots from the floor for the Cardinals (8-3, 3-1 GLIAC)
