GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Purdue Northwest senior guard Mikell Cooper has been honored as GLIAC Player of the Week following week 15 of the 2022-23 men's basketball season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mikell Cooper, Purdue Northwest
Senior guard Mikell Cooper was a force to be reckoned with this past weekend leading the Pride. He averaged 29.0 points per game and four assists. On Thursday, Cooper notched a season-high 32 points against Saginaw Valley State, and then on Saturday for Senior Day when the team needed him the most, he led Purdue Northwest a game-high 26 points to help seal the win 69-48 vs. Wayne State. That big win put the Pride in the GLIAC Tournament in a must win scenario.
