Bay City, Mich. -- Grand Valley State University won the 2008 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship Monday (10/6) with a total team score of 863 (-1). The Lakers edged the University of Findlay (864) by one stroke in the two day event, which featured 36 holes on Sunday (10/5) and 18 on Monday (10/6). Wayne State University rounded-out the top three with a total of 866 (+2).

Wayne State's Steve Cuzzort earned tournament medalist honors for his 208 (-8) stroke total for the 54 hole event. Saginaw Valley State's Kasey Hocquard and Wayne State's Joe Juszczyk both carded scores of 212 (-4) to tie for second place.

The event was played at the par 72 - 6,860 yard Bay City Country Club in Bay City, Mich.
