2018 GLIAC Golf Championships Begin Friday in Ohio


NASHPORT, Ohio -- The stage is set and the weather is improving just in time for the 2018 GLIAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships hosted at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. The 22-team (11 men, 11 women), 54-hole, three-day event runs Friday, April 20th through Sunday, April 22nd when champions will be crowned. 

The reigning GLIAC champion Grand Valley State men enter the league championships as the No. 1 ranked team in the Midwest Region, while the GVSU women sit second in the East Region. Northern Michigan, Ashland and Tiffin are also slated inside the Top 10 of the women's region rankings, while Wayne State, Saginaw Valley and Tiffin appear inside the Top 10 of the men's standings.

The men will be first off on Friday at 8:00 AM in the first round followed by the women beginning play at 12:30 PM. Competition will alternate on Saturday with the women teeing off first followed by the men. Championships Sunday will feature the men's final round in the morning with the women completing the championships in the afternoon. 

UPDATE: FRIDAY - 8 AM: The first round of action has been delayed due to frost. Action will begin at Noon with a shotgun start for both men and women.
