GLIAC Announces Male Golfers of the Week for the Month of September

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced men's golf weekly awards for the month of September following the fifth week of tournaments. Listed below are the student-athletes who have received GLIAC weekly honors through the month of September.


 WEEK 1: Charles DeLong - Grand Valley State

Competing in the Don Underwood Invitational, GVSU freshman Charles DeLong claimed medalist honors in his first collegiate golf tournament with a -3 210. DeLong, who carded a final round 69, was the only player in the field to shoot two rounds in the 60's (69, 72, 69).


Week 2 - Gunnar Stein - Saginaw Valley State

Gunnar Stein claimed medalist honors at the 2019 GLIAC North Invitational, held at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. Stein put together rounds of 72-69, finishing as the only player under par (-1) in leading the Cardinals to a third place finish. It marked Gunnar's second career victory, adding to his OVU Highlands Cup Challenge victory in October of 2017. 


 WEEK 3 & 4: Brandon Seys - Wayne State

Senior Brendan Seys (Port Lambton, Ont.) was named GLIAC Golfer of the Week on two occasions.  He earned the recognition on Sept. 23rd and Sept 30th.  Seys won the Findlay Doc Spragg Fall Invitational with a 209 (69, 69, 71) on Sept. 23-24 and won the rain-shortened WSU HawksHead Invitational with a 66 on Sept. 28th.
